Bananers...

by LilMissWafflesMy "not so smart" moment...

Two weekends ago, my family and I went to the grocery store and stumbled upon the produce section.  There, Backup Brain and I were debating among ourselves as to how many bananas we should get.  My argument was that we always go through bananas too fast and that we need to get more than the five or six we normally get.  His argument was that whenever we get too many, they spoil and we end up having to throw away the excess, overly ripened ones.  I convinced him that if we got our normal amount, we would be able to finish them.  Especially given that our children are eating more due to both of them having growth spurts.

We ended up getting our normal amount of six bananas and by the middle of the week; we had finished most of them.  However, sure enough, by the following week, there are two bananas still in the cradle and by the end of that week, we still had them and threw them away.  I guess I misjudged how many bananas we could eat.  So, this weekend, when we approached with the same dilemma, I listened to Backup Brain and only got four bananas, thinking that this would be enough to last us.

This time, I did not consider the fact that my children were still growing...  By the following morning we had finished the four bananas.  My littlest one ate three the day we got them and my oldest finished the last one the next morning!  I guess I was right all along...
