Watching
Disney movies with my kids is something I can never get bored of and has become one of my families favorite pastime things to do together. The kiddos always do or say some of the funniest
and most adorable things.
I
have a boy and a girl and absolutely love the sound of their little voices when
they find a song they like and sing-a-long to.
Especially enjoy watching my little girl twirl around as Rapunzel does
in the movie Tangled or when she sings “Let it Go” from Frozen with so much
passion; It’s just the cutest thing!
It’s
exciting to see them pick up on a Disney song and hearing them sing it at random times
during the day for no reason at all. I've tried to record my son but he won’t
have it and he’ll simply stay quiet. I
can’t blame him for being shy though, he has never been the singing type. He mostly likes it when you sing to him and
when he feels he’s heard it enough to know the lyrics and feels comfortable to
join in, he will. My daughter is more of a singer and expresses it openly but she’s two and will see the camera, stop,
pose and say “cheeeese….” So, that doesn’t
work out well, either… I do get a lot of great pictures but I really want a
recording of them signing… I guess I’ll just have to get more creative.
The
first Disney movie my husband and I showed my son was The Lion King. It had been a long time since my husband and
I had sat down to watch any Disney movie and he decided (I will give my DH full
credit for this) that he would put on the Best Disney Movie to be the first our
little 18 month old son would watch; Completely unfocused on the “one” scene
that inadvertently confused our son about “death” and only focused on the fun, colorful, and positive song of “Hakuna Matata”…
Soon
after watching The Lion King, any time we’d say something along the lines of
“my phone died”, our son would get very sad and get that teary eyed look on his
face and then say the thing that broke my heart into little pieces every time
with his sweet baby voice “it… died…?” Looking
back now it’s just adorable but this changed the way we referred to our cell
phones when they needed a good ol' charge…
Killed me every time… So yea, we don’t say that anymore…
My
daughter learned her first three word sentence in song through the now popular
movie “Frozen”, can you guess what it was?
If
you guessed “let it go” you’d be right.
Can’t imagine it was very hard to guess... I was glad to hear it though because I had
been worried she wasn't vocalizing enough and after the introduction of this
wonderful Disney movie, she started talking a lot. It took me by surprise because she would say
words and point out things I thought she wasn't picking up on. But I’ll leave this subject for another day
on another post.
