I will never forget the feeling...

I will never forget the feeling.  No matter how hard I try.

That moment when you feel something is off…
Your palms start to sweat…
Your heart rate speeds up…
Fear settles in…
Then…
Panic.
Thoughts of the worst things imaginable, when you are a visual person as I am, these are thoughts you just can’t escape…
You call out, scream and yell out…
Searching…
Search some more…
No… It can’t be…
Retrace steps…
2 minutes gone…
Now searching outside…
The neighbor helps…
Panic has now reached all surrounding you…
It can’t be…
Body shaking uncontrollably…
Dialing…
5 minutes gone…
Who…?
Where…?
When…?
What…?
Now I know why, all the book reports in school… It’s not a story… It’s life…
But not now, not mine…
Stay calm…
Not possible…
Breath…
Not possible…
God dammit…! I need you here NOW!
No… you’re right keep searching…
Stay strong… Keep faith…
10 minutes gone…
Helicopter…
I can’t understand it…
More neighbors…
This is not happening…
I hear it better now…
My phone rings…
We were disconnected…
Almost there…
Who…?
When…?
Where…?
What…?
I can’t, you take it…
15 minutes gone…
I hear sirens…
Cars lined up…
More neighbors…
Dressed in blue…
Who…? When…? What…? Where…?
Searching…
Something’s changed…
Do you feel it?
Intuition…?
Calm down…
Hope…
I feel it…
Phone rings…
Missed call…
Cheering!
Breathe…  Possible.
Panic…  Gone.
