Marriage Perks

Marriage Perks

If you are married or close to it, maybe you’ll know what I’m talking about.

Every marriage has its perks.   You know, besides “eternal love and companionship”…

I mean come on - free foot rubs (love ‘em!) and massages pretty much anytime you want.  Don’t have to schedule an appointment or give a tip, unless you’re feeling generous, of course...

If you have a regular 8-5 job you know that you will always have your best friend to join you for dinner and weekends become breakfast in bed days and date-nights.

You get free therapy for life and your partner won’t secretly think you’ve gone “cray-cray”, most of the time that is… but I’m not making any promises.

Sometimes, if you are female, you might never be wrong again!  Even if you are wrong, you won’t be because your husband will stand by you 99.99%. Yes, they have to keep that little 0.01% of wiggle room for “freedom of doubt”.  You have to return the favor, though.  If he is wrong, and you and he know he’s wrong but you know it’ll kill his ego, you let him be right.  They love that and feel so proud of themselves…

The best parts… if you forget something you know you have a backup brain to remind you (because I can be very forgetful) and if you forget your keys and lock yourself out of the house or car, you’ll always have a spare to open the door for you.  A backup brain is awesome to have!

They can act as a substitute to a body pillow or an alarm clock... and will not be judgmental if you choose to have a 7/11 taquito…

My husband and I have been married for over 6 years (together for over 13 years) and we have been through thick and thin together…literally…we’ve lost and gained weight together…but we always get back to our norm.  From the days before you even learn about all your perks together, you find that the greatest perk of all is that you have your biggest supporter in anything and everything you do in your life and in your lives together.
